Cole Parmer UK offers a range of laboratory centrifuges including microcentrifuges, low speed clinical centrifuges (less than 10,000 rpm) and laboratory bench top centrifuges (less than 22,000 rpm). Our range of centrifuge rotors and adapters allow samples to be tested in tubes as small as 0.2 ml up to 750 ml beakers. Select from leading centrifuge manufacturers including Thermo IEC, Thermo Sorvall and Eppendorf as well as Cole-Parmer’s own value range of centrifuges.
Centrifugation is a process used to separate or concentrate solids suspended in a liquid medium. A centrifuge uses centrifugal force (g-force) to isolate suspended particles from their surrounding medium and can be used to separate colloidal particles or substances of different densities, remove moisture, for micro filtration or to stimulate gravitational effects. Cole-Parmer’s basic of centrifugation provides a good introduction to centrifuge terminology, separation techniques and choice of centrifuge based upon the application.
When selecting your centrifuge, consideration has to be given to a range of factors. View our online catalogue to see our full selection of products or contact our Application Specialist to help you find the right product for your needs.
